ATHENS TOURS AND THE ACROPOLIS

The tour will begin at Syntagma Metro Station, where your guide will briefly introduce you to the archaeological finds unearthed during the construction of the metro line. Then we will continue the tour passing by the House of the Greek Parliament and the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, where we will witness the changing of the guards. Afterwards, we will visit the National Garden and the impressive neoclassical Zappeion Hall.
Opposite Zappeion you will find the Temple of Zeus and the famous Hadrian's Arch. After crossing the road in front of the Arch, we will arrive at the picturesque neighborhood of Plaka. At the entrance to this neighborhood we will see the statue of Melina Merkouri.
We will walk up Dionysiou Areopagitou Street to the South Gate of the Acropolis. We will enter the Acropolis site from the south side to avoid the crowds and to also admire the Theater of Dionysus, the oldest theater in the world. Then we will climb the Acropolis hill to see the marvelous Parthenon, the temple of Athena Nike, the Propylaea, the Erechtheion, the Karyatids, and marvel at the breathtaking view of Athens.
Your guide will give you all the historical information regarding the monuments of the Acropolis and also the surrounding monuments, including the Ancient Agora, the Theater of Herodes Atticus, the Monument of Philopappos, and the Hill of Pnyx.
The tour will end at the Acropolis, where you will have plenty of time to take photos and enjoy magnificent views of Athens.
